Roland DG Expands Industrial Direct-to-Object Printing Portfolio

The VersaObject IO-300 & VersaObject RC-300 Series help with on-demand printing, customization, and more.

Roland DG launched the VersaObject IO-300 and VersaObject RC-300 Series, two new industrial UV printing solutions designed to help businesses meet growing demand for high-mix, short-run manufacturing and product decoration.

The IO-300 delivers high-precision UV flatbed printing for industrial parts, product decoration, and custom goods across rigid substrates. The RC-300 Series devices are designed for direct cylindrical printing onto bottles, tumblers, drinkware, packaging, promotional products, and more.

The launches strengthen Roland DG’s industrial direct-to-object printing portfolio, providing manufacturers, decorators, print service providers, and packaging producers with new ways to deliver customized products, respond faster to customer demands, and reduce the costs and complexities associated with traditional production methods.

“Businesses today need production solutions that can adapt quickly to changing customer demands without compromising quality or profitability,” said Kevin Shigenoya, Executive Officer, New Business Office, Roland DG. “While the IO-300 and RC-300 Series are designed for different production environments and applications, both help customers respond more quickly to demand for shorter runs, greater customization, and faster turnaround times. Each brings the precision, performance, and ease of use needed for industrial direct-to-object printing, enabling customers to expand their offerings, improve efficiency, and unlock new revenue opportunities.”

The launch of the IO-300 and RC-300 Series reflects Roland DG’s continued investment in industrial printing technologies that enable businesses to respond to evolving market demands.

From personalized promotional products and premium packaging to industrial parts, product decoration, and customized consumer goods, both solutions help users move towards more agile, demand-driven production models while reducing inventory risk and improving responsiveness.

By combining industrial-grade print quality with simplified workflows and broad application versatility, the VersaObject IO-300 and RC-300 Series empower businesses to produce exactly what customers need, when they need it.

VersaObject IO-300

The VersaObject IO-300 is engineered for industrial parts decoration, product customization, and applications where accuracy, repeatability, and durability are critical.

Equipped with newly developed printheads, advanced dot control, and Roland DG’s latest UV ink technology, the IO-300 delivers exceptional image quality alongside production speeds of up to 37.6 square feet per hour (3.5 m²/h) in standard CMYK mode.

The IO-300 supports a wide range of materials, including polycarbonate, ABS, acrylic, PVC, glass, aluminum, and stainless steel, while its generous 30” x 20” (770 mm x 515 mm) print area accommodates a broad range of production requirements.

It also connects to the Roland DG Connect app for users to monitor and manage key production tasks. Connection to the VersaWorks RIP software also provides integrated tools for print production, device monitoring, and workflow management.

VersaObject RC-300

The new VersaObject RC-300 Series is comprised of two helical UV printers – the RC-300 and the RC-300c – designed for direct-to-object printing across a wide range of cylindrical and tapered items.

RC-300 Series printers enable users to print high-quality graphics directly onto bottles, tumblers, drinkware, cans, and other promotional, packaging, and consumer products, including objects with convex or concave geometries, eliminating many of the setup complexities traditionally associated with such decoration.

With two different models available, users can choose the device that best suits their specific needs. Both the RC-300 and RC-300c are built for short runs, premium customization, and fast setup of applications such as containers, promotional items, and limited-edition packaging. However, the RC-300c model is ideal for printing on clear or translucent bottles, even pre-filled and/or pre-labeled bottles.

RC-300 Series printers are compatible with a wide range of materials, including glass, PET, aluminum, steel, and rigid plastics. Advanced EUV-H hard inks in 1-liter bottles of CMYK, White, Gloss, and Primer enable the durable production of vibrant colors, detailed graphics, and premium finishes without requiring custom tooling.
